What do I do if I am unhappy with my order?

If for any reason you are unhappy with the quality of the reprint or photo product that you purchased from me, please contact me as soon as possible.

Reprints

If you are unhappy with a reprint, I will either reprint the item to your satisfaction, replace the item with a substitute image, or refund the price of the item. Shipping charges will not be refunded.

You will need to return the original print. I will need to be able to compare the revised print to the original.

Photo Products

Most of my photo products come from a direct print vendor with a 30 day satisfaction guarantee. If you are unhappy with the quality, they will reprint the item. If it is the wrong size, they will replace the item with another size. If you’d rather simply get your money back, you must contact me within 30 days to get your refund. Shipping charges will not be refunded.

Gift Certificates

By Massachusetts state law, all gift certificates are good for 7 ears from the date of issue. So, feel free to hold on to them. You’ve got plenty of time to use them. If, however, you would rather have your money back, please contact me for a refund.

How do I place an order using a gift certificate?

There are three ways to place an order using a gift certificate — at an event, by mail or by phone. Unfortunately, I are not able to process orders using a gift certificate online at this time.

To place an order at an event, please check the event schedule to see where I’m going to be.

To place an order by mail, you will need an order form, price list, and possibly a credit card order form if you want to pay by credit card instead of check. The gift certificate is applied to the order subtotal, before shipping and taxes are applied. More information about ordering by mail can be found here.

Can I order using a credit card?

Yes.

I accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. You can order using a credit card online, by mail, at an event, or over the phone. All credit card orders are processed through PayPal. Credit card payment forms are shredded once the order has been successfully processed. I will NOT keep your credit card number on file.

If you want to pay by credit card on a mail order, you will need to download our credit card payment form.

When will I receive my order?

All orders take a minimum of 6 to 8 weeks to process, print and ship. Some products – like photo books, collages and calendars – can take longer.

Why does it take so long? The studio is basically a one-person business — me. That means I take the pictures, go through the pictures, sort the orders, process the orders, package the orders, and ship the orders. And since I individually crop and color correct each photo, it takes some time.

If you need your order by a specific date, please let me know as soon as possible. I may be able to expedite your order if I am informed ahead of time. However, even an expedited order may take several weeks, so please order well in advance of your deadline.

Can you crop the photo?

Yes! In fact, I automatically crop most photos as closely as I can to the dog. After all, that’s what you’re paying to see, right?

If you do not want the image cropped, please let me know when you order. You can place any special instructions in the “Comments” field during checkout, in the instructions box on the printed order form, or send them to me via email.

What are show borders?

Sometimes, you want to remember at special moment or event. A new title or particular achievement like competing at your specialty.

The 8×10s are available with the option of adding a special show border. These borders can include your dog’s name – both call name and registered name — and titles, as well as the name, location, date and class from the event. Additional information can be added upon request.

Do you sell digital files on CD-ROM?

No. In general it is not my practice to sell digital files of my images.

However, if you’re looking for a digital file to put on your website or share with your friends via email or social networking site, please let me know. I offer low resolution files available for use online at no extra charge. You can find out more information, here.

Holiday Ordering Deadlines

Holiday ordering deadlines are fast approaching! Make sure you don’t wait too late.

Have you placed your holiday order with Karen Hocker Photography, yet? It’s already November and the holiday ordering deadlines are nearly here. Although we will try to fulfill all orders before the holidays, we can’t guarantee delivery on orders placed after these deadlines. Don’t wait!*

  • Photo reprints and enlargements: December 1st
  • Custom photo products (t-shirts, etc.): December 1st
  • Holiday Cards: November 20th
  • Collages: November 20th
  • Calendars: November 20th

Don’t know what to get? Why not purchase an item from our store. We have a smorgasbord of products to choose from in a wide variety of dog breeds and dog sports. Cards, calendars, t-shirts, mugs and more — there’s something for everyone!

Still not sure? Why not purchase a gift certificate and let ‘em choose for themselves. You can give a gift certificate for our photos or a gift certificate from the store.

* Orders normally take 6—8 weeks. Rush charges may be required for on time delivery.
